Support
Most problems come down to one of the fixes below. If none of them helps, email support@honestremote.app. A real person answers.
My TV doesn't show up
- Make sure the TV is on, and that your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the TV (not a guest network, and not mobile data).
- Allow the app to find devices: on your iPhone, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and turn on Honest Remote.
- Or enter the TV's address by hand in the app (Your TVs > Enter TV address). On a Roku: Settings > Network > About. On a Samsung: Settings > General > Network > Network Status > IP Settings.
Roku: buttons don't work
Newer Roku software blocks phone remotes until you turn this on: press Home on your Roku remote, then open Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Control by mobile apps and choose Enabled.
Samsung: it keeps asking, or won't connect
- The first time you connect, your TV asks whether to allow Honest Remote. Choose Allow. The prompt disappears after about 30 seconds; if you miss it, tap Try again in the app.
- If you chose Deny, open Settings > General > External Device Manager > Device Connection Manager > Device List on the TV, then allow or delete Honest Remote and try again.
- The app can turn a Samsung TV off but not back on. Use the TV's own remote to turn it on.
Pro
- Pro is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription and nothing to cancel.
- New phone or reinstalled the app? Open Honest Remote Pro in the app and tap Restore Purchases.
- Pro is shared with your Family Sharing group.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
