Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
The short version: Honest Remote collects no data about you. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The only things the app sends over the network are commands to your own TV on your home Wi-Fi.
What the app does on your network
To find and control your TV, the app talks to devices on your local Wi-Fi network. This is why iPhone asks for permission to find devices on your local network. These messages go directly from your phone to your TV and never pass through our servers. We don't run any servers that receive your data.
What is stored on your phone
- The TVs you saved, with their names and network addresses.
- For Samsung TVs, the pairing code the TV gives the app when you choose Allow. It is kept in your iPhone's Keychain.
- Simple counts of successful and failed connections, which you can see under Connection details. They help with troubleshooting and are never uploaded.
- Your settings, such as touchpad mode.
All of this stays on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes it.
Purchases
Honest Remote Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, name or Apple ID. Apple tells the app only whether Pro has been purchased. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't collect personal information, usage data, location, contacts or identifiers.
- We don't use advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services, or any third-party code that does.
- We don't sell or share data, because we don't have any.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. We will never start collecting personal data without asking you first in the app.
